Terms of Use
Effective: September 20, 2026
Agreement and service
These Terms of Use govern access to the TraceTerm website, Portal, Backend services, authorized Terminal CLI installations, subscriptions, exports, and derived artifacts. By creating an account, authorizing an installation, starting a subscription, or using the service, you agree to these terms.
TraceTerm records authorized network operations as Work Sessions, preserves selected evidence in canonical Operational Traces, and helps users create operational artifacts from that evidence.
Accounts and authorized access
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information, the security of your sign-in methods and authorized installations, and activity performed through your account. Team Owners and administrators are responsible for membership, roles, Workspace selection, and authorized use by their members.
TraceTerm may be used only on systems, devices, networks, and data that you are authorized to access and operate. You must not use the service to gain unauthorized access, disrupt systems, evade controls, distribute malicious content, or violate applicable law.
Operational content
Work Sessions and Operational Traces may contain sensitive operational information, including commands, outputs, network identifiers, configurations, addresses, device names, circuit references, and customer context. You decide what may be captured, synchronized, retained, shared, exported, or submitted to an AI provider and must have the necessary authority to do so.
You retain your rights in content submitted to TraceTerm. You grant TraceTerm the limited rights needed to host, process, secure, display, derive, and export that content as requested through the service. Deletion or redaction may preserve identifiers, timestamps, hashes, and other metadata required for trace integrity, security, billing records, and audit history.
Derived artifacts and AI
Summaries, handoffs, inferred topologies, documentation, troubleshooting plans, and other derived artifacts are working materials based on the available trace evidence. They may include incomplete or inferred relationships and require review by a qualified person before operational use.
Unless expressly agreed in writing, a generated artifact is not a final as-built record, certification, compliance determination, root-cause guarantee, or substitute for professional engineering judgment.
Bring-your-own-key AI features are optional and run only when requested. You are responsible for selecting the provider and model, complying with that provider's terms, managing provider charges, and determining whether the relevant trace content may be sent to that provider.
Plans, trial, and billing
Current plan names, prices, billing intervals, currencies, seat rules, and included capabilities are shown on the TraceTerm pricing and checkout surfaces. Taxes, exchange rates, and payment-method charges may apply as shown by the payment provider.
The self-service trial lasts seven days and does not require a payment card to begin. A Team created by the same Owner inherits the Owner's existing trial window and does not start another trial. After expiration, an active subscription and payment method are required for paid operations; retained evidence may remain available in restricted read-only mode.
Personal and Team are separate subscriptions. The Team Owner pays centrally for every accepted membership, including the Owner's first seat. Pending invitations are not billed, and invited members do not provide a payment method for Team access.
Subscriptions renew automatically for the selected billing interval until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period unless the checkout or billing portal states otherwise. Fees already charged are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or expressly agreed by TraceTerm. Enterprise deployments, data residency, retention, support, invoicing, and security obligations require a separate written agreement.
Service operation and changes
TraceTerm may update the service, introduce reasonable usage or security controls, suspend unsafe or unauthorized activity, and modify features as the product evolves. We aim to preserve customer evidence and communicate material commercial changes, but uninterrupted or error-free availability is not guaranteed.
You may stop using the service at any time. TraceTerm may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect customers, the service, or third parties; respond to unlawful activity; address non-payment; or enforce these terms.
Intellectual property
TraceTerm and its software, branding, interfaces, documentation, and service design are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the service under these terms, no TraceTerm rights are transferred to you. Feedback may be used to improve the service without an obligation to compensate the contributor.
Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, TraceTerm is provided on an "as available" basis. You remain responsible for operational decisions, command execution, change approval, backups, rollback planning, validation, and the safe administration of managed systems.
TraceTerm is not responsible for third-party identity, payment, email, hosting, or AI services outside its reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Privacy and changes to these terms
Our Privacy Notice explains how personal and operational information is handled. We may update these terms to reflect product, legal, security, or commercial changes. The effective date above identifies the current version, and material changes will be communicated through an appropriate service channel.
